The West Umatilla County Mosquito Control District is responsible for controlling the mosquito population within West Umatilla County. Since total eradication is not environmentally sound or practically achievable, our goal is to limit the number of mosquitoes, reduce opportunity for rapid growth, and thus reduce the likelihood of mosquito-borne disease for people and animals in the district. This also requires public engagement and education about the risks related to mosquitoes and other vectors.
